This project is planned and led by FILTER017® founder/creative director Enzo (Lin Yi-Ching), who oversees design execution and creative coordination. After 18 months of preparation and obtaining official international authorization from Netflix, the project is produced and released in collaboration with Culture Supply™, a cultural and artistic division under the brand team.
Inspired by the core characters and the theme of "friendship" from Season 4 of the globally popular TV series Stranger Things, the project blends classic 1980s American style with sci-fi elements, meticulously recreating the characters’ details and iconic looks. In collaboration with renowned Japanese artist Jun Oson, the characters are reinterpreted through his signature "peanut-shaped face" art style for artistic illustrations. Crafted using PVC vinyl material through complex processes and techniques, the project exquisitely presents the three-dimensional sculptural features interpreted by Jun Oson, skillfully replicating the classic character designs from the series.
This release features a "Limited Overseas Special Edition Set," with only 116 sets available worldwide. The designs and details subtly differ from the classic version, adding playful and collectible value. The set will be sold simultaneously in Taiwan, Japan, and Hong Kong, with a limited quantity available in Taiwan, sold on a first-come, first-served basis, and will not be reissued. Each set includes four figures: Eleven wearing a custom pizza blindfold as she enters Max’s mental world, Max fighting to escape the Upside Down inspired by music, Eddie fearlessly confronting the Upside Down, and the optimistic Dustin actively rallying the team. Each set also includes a limited-edition certificate card signed by artist Jun Oson. Extending FILTER017®’s signature blend of creative elements, the set is packaged in a deluxe box designed with an 1980s "VHS tape" aesthetic, using frosted transparent PVC material to subtly reveal the silhouettes of the figures inside, adding a playful touch. Each figure stands approximately 10 inches tall, with a solid and substantial feel. Some parts feature movable joints, detailed painting, and intricate tampography techniques. Produced with technical support from Taiwan’s renowned designer toy studio INTOY, the collection achieves a high level of craftsmanship.
